MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Tuesday night time, the Macon-Bibb Fee votes on a undertaking to widen Bass Highway. With new retail outlets within the North Macon Plaza, commissioners wish to reduce site visitors complications.
The undertaking will widen Bass from two lanes to 4 lanes if licensed.
The Georgia Division of Transportation plans to allocate $30.five million for the undertaking.
Greater than $five million will come from county SPLOST finances.
Commissioners also are vote casting on a $750,000 SPLOST undertaking to resurface Macon-Bibb’s tennis courts. The undertaking contains new LED lights.
Commissioners say the county misses out on tens of millions of greenbacks from now not webhosting tennis tournaments as a result of the courts’ unhealthy form. This reasons tournaments to be performed somewhere else.
