This week the homeowners of Les Bois Park, Treasure Valley Racing, introduced they have been pulling out of their lease on the Backyard Metropolis horse racing observe. With voters saying “no” to digital betting terminals that would’ve sponsored the power, the way forward for the observe is unsure.
With the defeat of Proposition 1, Treasure Valley Racing is making good on its pledge to again away from the 63 acre Les Bois Park.
The individuals who will finally determine what occurs to the racetrack are the three Ada County Commissioners. One newly elected commissioner, Kendra Kenyon, tells KTVB she thinks had Prop 1 centered on bringing stay racing again to the Treasure Valley and never been about playing machines, voters may need been extra receptive. The final time horses galloped across the observe as spectators watched was 2015.
As for the following chapter at Les Bois, the incoming commissioner says she thinks the observe – and the whole 240 acres that home the adjoining Ada County Fairgrounds – are the county’s most beneficial and underutilized asset.
As soon as she and fellow incoming commissioner Diana Lachiando are seated in January, Kenyon says she’d wish to see a report detailing the chances of the entire website.
