Mitigation measures required to open the redeveloped disc golfing route in 2010 and give protection to the Giant 4 (blue oak, Butte Co. checkerbloom, Bidwell’s knotweed, and wildflower fields) and keep watch over soil erosion have languished.

The Stoney Hearth of July 2018, which burned just about 1,000 acres of Higher Bidwell Park and the route, used to be a possibility to reestablish and make stronger environmental protections. They’re nonetheless simplest in part performed.
The Town of Chico’s Running Settlement with the founders of the route, Outdoor Sport Advocacy Inc. (ORAI) aka Chico Outsiders, is slated for the second one renewal this June of its 5-year contract. In 2010, this settlement tasked ORAI with keeping up the route without charge to the town.

The seven participants of the Bidwell Park & Playground Fee (BPPC) have the Energy and Accountability stipulated in Chico’s Municipal Code to insure that control of the route is enough. Different teams that experience facility control agreements with the town appear in compliance, e.g. Bidwell Park Golfing Path, CARD, Chico Equestrian Assoc., Chico (Astronomical) Observatory, and Chico Rod & Gun Membership. Why will have to ORAI be any other?

The BPPC should direct pricey town finances, body of workers time and / or their spouse ORAI to do the task.
