DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke males’s golf program introduced that John Peters has signed his Nationwide Letter of Intent to enroll at Duke and compete for the Blue Devils subsequent season.
A top-100 junior within the nation, Peters ranks seventy fifth by Junior Golf Scoreboard (JGS) within the class of 2021 with a -2.16 scoring differential. The Carlisle, Pa., native is ranked No. 86 by the American Junior Golf Affiliation (AJGA).
“John is a shining instance of a scholar athlete and human being who is actually dedicated to excellence in all the things he does,” stated head coach Jamie Inexperienced. “Within the classroom he’s a straight-A scholar who challenges himself by taking virtually completely AP programs. He’s a pacesetter, an Eagle Scout and has served on his faculty’s Pupil Council.”
On the junior circuit this previous summer time, Peters received the Pennsylvania Junior Boys Championship, closing with a final-round 67 to safe the title. He was additionally a winner on the AJGA UHY Celadone Junior Championship by posting three consecutive rounds in pink numbers (70-68-70) to win medalist honors.
