The Indiana Horse Racing Fee (IHRC) held its common month-to-month assembly at Indiana Grand Wednesday, Dec. 5. Included on the agenda was the approval of racing dates for 2019 at each Indiana Grand and Harrah’s Hoosier Park. Each racetracks supplied a presentation, together with operational and advertising plans for 2019 in addition to racing dates, and each tracks obtained approval for racing dates submitted.
The 17th season of Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing at Indiana Grand will mirror racing dates from 2018 with a 120-day racing meet set to start Tuesday, April 16 via Wednesday, Nov. 6. Racing shall be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday starting at 2:05 p.m. with Saturday racing performed at 6:05 p.m. Additionally, two Thursday racing dates shall be held Thursday, July 18 and Thursday, Sept. 5 with a 2:05 p.m. first submit.
“We’re already engaged on a number of features of our 2019 racing program and are very happy that we are going to comply with practically the identical schedule for racing from 2018,” mentioned Jon Schuster, vice chairman and normal supervisor. “We’ve got labored over time to tweak our racing days of the week and submit instances and really feel our present schedule accommodates our horsemen and matches nicely into simulcasting schedules.”
Harrah’s Hoosier Park can even present an equivalent schedule with a 160-day Standardbred meet resuming Friday, March 29 via Saturday, Nov. 9. Racing shall be performed Tuesday via Saturday with a primary submit of 6:30 p.m.
