Brighton have signed striker Danny Welbeck on a one-year contract.

The 29-year-old has joined the Premier League membership after he terminated his cope with Watford by mutual consent earlier this month.

His contract with the Hornets had a £5.5m launch clause inbuilt and was resulting from expire subsequent summer time, however he has now joined Brighton as a free agent and must be obtainable for subsequent Monday’s conflict with West Brom on the Amex.

“We’re delighted to have Danny becoming a member of us. He’ll complement our present putting choices,” Graham Potter informed the membership’s web site.

“He is received an undoubted pedigree, and he’s fast and technically excellent. He’ll add to our attacking menace and we’re thrilled so as to add one other participant of his expertise and high quality.”

The previous Manchester United and Arsenal ahead, who will put on the No 18 shirt for his new facet, has gained 42 caps for England and scored 16 instances for his nation.

“I feel Danny’s arrival concludes what we really feel has been an excellent window for the membership,” Brighton’s technical director Dan Ashworth added.

“A variety of planning, diligence and onerous work went into the recruitment facet, and I wish to thank all of the membership’s completely different departments for his or her efforts in reaching that.”
