DEL MAR, Calif. — The California Horse Racing Board has selected an established veterinarian as its new chairman.

Gregory Ferraro used to be elected Thursday all the way through the board’s assembly at Del Mar racetrack north of San Diego. He used to be appointed to the governing frame 5 months in the past by way of Gov. Gavin Newsom.
